Tobermore Shannon Driveway Design
The driveway at this home in Glasgow is located right at the front of the home and is visible from inside the house from the front window. This visibility played a central role in our driveway design process, as we wanted to create a space that looks great from all angles.
Due to the traditional property style, a combination of Tobermore Shannon block paving and cobblestones in a contrasting colour was proposed to add elegance to the home. The use of double stones meant more work for our team, which is something we take in our stride as client satisfaction is at the core of everything we do.

Retaining Wall and Slate Tile Cladding
We constructed a new retaining wall, adjacent to the neighbouring property, to accommodate the wider driveway entrance as well as offer additional appeal to the home’s entrance. These retaining walls were clad in Brazilian Black Slate tiles to not only enhance the design of the driveway as a whole but also offer additional durability to the retaining wall, which is essential when exposed to constant traffic.
To clad the retaining walls, we first had to remove any remaining paint or render to ensure a clean foundation. Tiles were set with an extra-strength outdoor tile adhesive, which is waterproof and weather-resistant, ensuring long-term wear.
The black tile cladding not only complements the dark stones of the Tobermore Shannon driveway, but will also complement the future home upgrades our client intends to do. They plan to change their windows to black or antracite frames, which will align perfectly with the new driveway and retaining walls installed by our team.
