Functional Tegula Driveway Design
The primary objective for this Tegula driveway was to create two functional car parking spaces at the front of the property so our clients, Stewart and Mark, had their own space to park their vehicles. The functionality of the driveway is a primary goal, but aesthetics is also important in a project of this scale, and we wanted to ensure that the new driveway complemented the contemporary design of the property.
Tegula Block Paving Installation
We installed a 45-degree pathway leading to the front door with Tobermore slate Tegula paving stones in two sizes. To achieve this particular design, additional cutting was required to get the desired shapes and sizes of the paving stones. This additional work has led to a greater appeal of the home’s entrance as the bespoke pathway perfectly complements the contemporary property design.
The driveway was installed using the same Tegula paving stones in slate grey and charcoal, which contrasts with the warm tones of the property beautifully. To align with the needs of our clients, this driveway was bespoke installed to support two vehicles and forms two equally-sized spaces.
Drop Kerb Installation
A crucial part of this project was the installation of a drop kerb to create a larger entrance for the two separate driveway spaces. This process involves replacing the existing road kerbs outside of the property with smaller bullnose kerbs. Once the kerb has been replaced, the new area requires tarmac paving to match the surrounding pavement and make the dropped kerb blend seamlessly with its surroundings.
As this work takes place outside of our client’s private property, planning permission was required from the local authorities. Due to our experience in this field, we can make the application process easier for our clients. We supported Stewart and Mark in obtaining the permission needed for this project.
Marble Borders and Lighting
We designed the bespoke L-shaped border of the Tegula driveway to make better use of the available space and add a touch of elegance to the design. This marble paving has been fitted with spotlights to provide illumination to the driveway, as well as the front of the home for a safer entry.
