Block Paving Driveway Design
For this driveway installation project, our clients in the Southside of Glasgow desired a renovation that would increase both kerb appeal and functionality of their home. They wanted to driveway extended to support multiple vehicles as well as increase the aesthetics of their property.
In the design process, we discussed the material and colour options, as well as crafted a plan for additional details such as raised flowerbeds to further complement the home.
The homeowners envisioned a driveway that would not only enhance the curb appeal of their property but also reflect their unique style and preferences. They sought a durable and visually appealing solution that would seamlessly integrate with the surrounding landscape while providing ample space for parking.

Distinctive Features Of Driveway Installation
A standout feature of this driveway installation was the meticulously crafted step, which seamlessly integrated with the driveway’s pattern and provided a seamless transition from the street to the property.
Using advanced techniques and premium materials, these steps were installed at a precise 45-degree angle to align with the rest of the driveway and create a captivating focal point at the front of the driveway.
To adorn the new driveway installation, our team constructed raised flower beds using brown treated sleepers. These add dimension and interest to the front of the property, and provide a raised space for planting for seasonal charm throughout the year.
Kerb Dropping
To maximise accessibility and functionality to this new driveway installation, The Glasgow Paving Company undertook the challenge of dropping the kerb. Alongside dropping the kerb, which requires an excavation of the existing kerb and surrounding pavement, we also extended it by 12 metres for better access to the property.
As dropped kerbs impact public pathways, planning permission from local authorities was required ahead of this step. With our experience across Glasgow, we make it easy for our clients to apply for and obtain the necessary permission for dropped kerbs and driveway installations, which was demonstrated in this project.
With the newly dropped kerb and longer entrance, we not only facilitated smoother vehicle access but also improved the flow of traffic coming to and from this property. This new driveway installation enhances the convenience and usability of our client’s home.
